چکیده
Methods Data collection on CLABSI in VLBW newborns was made prospectively for 2009 year. Study covered 386 neonates of birth weight <1500g in 2 Polish NICUs (A and B), among which 55 cases of CLABSI were detected. CoNS strains isolated from 26 newborns with CLABSI, were determined in blood in the automatic system Vitek, drug resistance was determined by disc diffusion method. This study was supported by a grant no. NN401615340.

Determination of the Frequency of Microbial Agents and Drug Susceptibility Pattern of the Neonatal Sepsis in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Alzahra Hospital, Tabriz, Iran
Background: Neonatal sepsis is one of the most important causes of infant mortality in developing countries. The causative organisms for sepsis are various in different regions across the world. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of microbial agents and drug resistance pattern of the neonatal sepsis in newborns admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Alzahra Hos...

Background: Blood stream infection is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in patients with cancer. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of aerobic and anaerobic-bacteremia in hospital inpatients with cancer and to determine the antibiotic resistance profile in isolated organisms in Kerman, southeast Iran. Methods: Total of 240 blood cultures from 136 patients w...
متن کاملFrequency of device-associated infections in intensive care units
Background: Health care associated infections (HAIs) are a class of infections that infect patients during hospital admissions and receive medical services. These infections occurs within 48 to 72 hours of admission and up to 6 weeks after discharge. Surveillance of device-associated infections (DAIs) in intensive care units (ICUs) is substantial in planning healthcare strategies. This study wa...
متن کاملPrevalence, Aetiology and Antibiotic Resistance Profiles of Coagulase Negative Staphylococci Isolated in a Teaching Hospital
In this paper we carried out a study about prevalence of the clinically significant coagulase negative staphylococcal (CNS) isolates found in an university hospital. Two hundred four CNS isolates from 191 patients obtained between the period of 1998 to 2002, were studied. About 27% (52/191) of the infection cases studied were confirmed as CNS-associated diseases. Blood stream infection (BSI) wa...
متن کاملHealthcare associated infections caused by coagulase-negative Staphylococci in a neonatal intensive care unit
OBJECTIVE This study sought to evaluate infections related to health care caused by coagulase-negative Staphylococci in a neonatal intensive care unit by assessing antimicrobial susceptibility profiles and potentially effective antibiotic regimens. METHODS This was a retrospective descriptive study performed on a case series of healthcare-associated infections, and the antimicrobial susceptib...
